I weigh around 155 pounds and I ride all the bikes. The titanium frame does move more and adsorb bumps better than the steel Spaceframe. My bikes are all essentially “rigid” but the titanium frame has the most vertical flex. Please feel free to call me up and we can talk about how and where you ride and the differences in the frames.

Hey Jeff, does it matter if you weigh 130 pounds — will the steel space frame still flex enough to smooth out the ride, or would it be more important for such a light rider to get a ti bike?

digging the thumb shifts. I went to an auction a few years back and bought up 5 pair of shimanos. I love them.

Jeff happy to hear your opinions on these new brakes. It will take an outstanding review from you for me to part with these BB7′s , but I have been curious for your feed back on how they compare to the BB7′s . I am also excited to hear what your thoughts are on the new wider 29 ” rims ? After 5 years of single speeding on the Ti Jones I finally put the 6 gears on the rear I bought from you 4 years ago and I am loving the bike !

John,
The Big Fat Larry is actually lighter than the Larry tires I have in stock. Both have a wire bead and 120 tpi.
It is bigger so it has more cushion and traction.
The wider rear rim makes the tire more stable at lower pressures. I’m testing three different wide 29″ rims and the weights are all different. They are all heavier than the flow but the ride is much better for me.

I’m hoping you’ll review the new rear rim and BFL tire. How much more do they weigh? (rear compared to a Flow, and BFL compared to a Larry) I ride a steel Jones with ti truss, and I like it more every ride.
