Small Jones

My son’s bike came out great and he can really ride it in a nice natural way. I have learned a lot from watching how the children ride. They have a very relaxed approach – not affected by the types of cycling and riding that is in or out of fashion. They just ride their bikes and take things as they come.

Korbin’s bike is a 4130 frame and fork, with a custom-curved ti bar, modified (cut and shortened) Shimano cranks with a Paul 28h front Whub and King SS rear hub. Wheels are 20″. It’s set up as a single speed now to keep things simple. I’ll add gears later.

I’d love to do more bikes for kids. We’ve been down the BMX track and various children have tried it out. They seem to take to it. Korbin certainly looks right at home on it.

    That looks just right 🙂

And the low standover on the spaceframe is ideal. I’ve been struggling to sort my son’s bike so he feels more in charge of it. Looking at that I think some sweepier bars might help.
