The aluminum Loop 660 H-Bar.

All Jones H-Bars use a 31.8mm stem clamp diameter, 22.2mm clamp size for controls (standard mountain bike style).  The entire front loop has a 22.2mm diameter.

The cross bar on the Loop H-Bar sweeps forward to allow the levers to go behind the cross bar instead of in front. This gives longer uninterrupted hand positions and will allow trigger and grip/twist shifters to fit on the rearward extensions (unlike the original H-bar). The continuous front loop of the bar enhances stiffness and is good for additional aero hand positions and mounting lights, GPS devices etc. This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight. With the levers in the optimum position you get a wide range of hand and body positions, from fully upright at the ends of the grips, to a tucked aero position when resting your forearms across the crossbar and loop.  In between these extremes, there are many unique and useful positions, making this a true multi-position bar because you'll actually find yourself using all of the positions! The rearward extensions allow extra leverage and a wider hand position - be it for comfort or power. All H-bars are for a 31.8 stem and the crossbar is now tapered and butted with a 31.8 mm clamp area. The grip tubes on the aluminum version are also butted for strength and weight savings.  All H-Bars have a standard 22.2mm diameter grip area.

Try wrapping the crossbar with bartape!  You can wrap both the crossbar and loop (but it helps to leave a gap in the center of the loop to mount whatever gadgets you have), if you want to have the most hand positions!

A common question about the Loop H-bars is whether they work with barend shifters.  The short answer is yes, but we don't like to put them in the ends of the bars for a couple of reasons: putting the shifters in the ends of the bars it puts them in a position where they are likely to hit parked cars or trees, as well as moving them farther from the other controls and the main hand positions.  Finally, the grips would need to be modified significantly to accept the cable housing, or the bars would need to be wrapped with bartape, which won't give you quite as much padding as the ESI grips that we have made for the bars.  When we use barend shifters, we mount them on the Paul Thumbies, which have hinged clamps that allow you to mount the shifters in front of the crossbar.  They work great!

    H-Bar Loop Aluminium Black

Posted by JJ on 26th May 2017

I replaced the drop bars on my partner's Cross Check with the H-Bar. I had noticed a lot of praise, verging on "transformational," from a lot of local riders. I had to order a new stem and change out the brake levers and shifters. Got the Jones grips (spendy!) and installed bar tape... They're ready to go! Taking a long ride today. I'm grateful for the informative step-by-step instructions and tips for compatible parts.

The best bars MTB bars, so comfortable!

Posted by Lisa Gladstone on 28th Mar 2017

The most neck pain I have felt on a bike was during a sub zero ride on a dirt trail, shocks frozen and miserable from the shoulders up! That day I ordered my first Jones H loop handlebars and then waited for the soreness to go and the bars in show up.
I have gone on several sub freezing rides with the new bars and NO pain or soreness! Being able to change positions is a great benefit as well. Riding to the trails in the aero position is enjoyable now! Plenty of room for lights, bags and computers is fantastic! I bought a second pair a month later. Maybe because I am older the straight bars were to much for me? I doubt it, I think every bike shop should carry these if the sell bikes with straight bars!

Jones Loop Bar on my Road Bike

Posted by Andy Ruland on 2nd Jan 2017

I have been struggling with shoulder issues (impingement syndrom) for years, Medical advice is to stay off drops or have surgery. Flat bars just didn't do is for me and drops on extenders and high rise stems work but look weird. These Jones bars solved my problems. I love them. Just ordered another pair.

    goodbye numb hands

Posted by Robert on 20th Jun 2016

Just got my new loop aluminum 660 h-bars on my Sirrus, no more hand numbness - they are great, one thought for you is to make the markings on the silver bars black instead of white, it would make them easier to see and setup. They are great though, thanks!

    No Regrets

These handlebars have extended the amount of time I can stay out for a ride. Multiple hand positions kept my upper body fresh during longer rides over varied terrain.
Also, customer service is top notch.

Like a new bike, new me!

Put my Loop bars on my Montague Paratrooper that I use as an urban/gravel bike. The bars made a world of improvement in comfort and efficiency over the original flats.

I just ordered set of Loops for my touring bike and will likely be getting another for the wife's bike.

The Best Bar: The best solution to many bicycle issues

Posted by Jorge Rivas on 13th Aug 2015

Fisrt let me say that the service was top rated with shipping within minutes of my order. I also called before hand and received advice directly from Jeff Jones. I think outside the box, and for me flat, raiser, butterfly, and drop down bars have too many issues I do not like, either limited hand positions, complicated mechanical components (drop downs) or difficulty for fitting. The Loop Bar, which I bought resolved all of these. Great variety of hand positions, can use the MTB components (which I prefer) and give great control of the bike in descents, as well as nice "aero position" at open road high speeds. I love it! I put it on my MTB, and on my titanium flat bar road bike (custom made). It works beautifully!!! and I am now waiting for my CX bike components to either break or wear out and when that happens I will switch all my bikes to JJ Loop bar.
