Jeff hears from a lot of riders who need to get their bars higher, and while his framesets make that easy, many riders are installing H-Bars on other brands of bikes with a normal, lower stack height in order to get more comfort and control.  For them, and everyone else who wants to get their bars higher, we have the new SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar!  Think of the 2.5 as an alternative to a 2" stack of headset spacers combined with a standard H-Bar, which has .5" of rise.

Also a great bar on a Jones Bike for the rider who wants maximum handlebar height!

This H-Bar is essentially an SG Loop H-Bar with 2.5" of rise compared to the standard .5" of rise on all of the other H-Bars.  Do you have a bike with a short head tube?  Your back and neck want this bar!  Are you wondering if it's safe to install a steerer tube extender on a steerer tube extender?  Get this H-Bar and you won't need to find out!

The SG 2.5 Loop H-Bar shares the same comfortable 45 degree sweep, black or silver colors options, 660mm or 710mm widths, 31.8mm clamp diameter, and standard 22.2mm grip area diameter for flat bar/mountain bike controls with the rest of the Aluminum H-Bars.  The main differences that you'll notice when riding the SG 2.5 vs the standard SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar is that the 2.5 is 2 inches higher—which makes it ideal for bikes with front ends that are too low—and that the rear crossbar swoops down to the stem, rather than curving mostly back as on the rest of the H-Bars.  We hope that this newest H-Bar will help more riders get more comfortable on their bikes!

We get a lot of questions about whether this H-Bar will work with our Loophole H-Bar Pack, and the answer is yes!  The pack fits less tightly, and will be tilted on this H-Bar, but from our experience, it works just fine.

The SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar weighs approximately 25 grams more than the SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar, so it's actually a very light-weight way to get a much higher stack—especially when compared to a steerer tube extender or even a longer steerer tube and extra spacers.

660mm 2.5 SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar: 635 grams

710 2.5 SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar: 650 grams

Black or Silver:

Black is bead-blasted and black anodized for a shiny, lightly-textured finish.

Silver is bead-blasted and clear anodized for a shiny, but not polished, lightly-textured finish.

The SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bars pass the same stringent EN Mountain Bike Standards as all of our other H-Bars.

All Jones H-Bars use a 31.8mm stem clamp diameter, 22.2mm clamp size for controls (standard mountain bike style).  The entire front loop has a 22.2mm diameter.

The Loop H-Bar has the same hand, stem and brake lever position as the original H-Bar but the cross bar sweeps forward to allow the levers to go behind the cross bar instead of in front. This gives longer uninterrupted hand positions and will allow trigger and grip/twist shifters to fit on the rearward extensions (unlike the original H-Bar and the Cut H-Bar). The continuous front loop of the bar enhances stiffness and is good for additional aero hand positions and mounting lights, GPS devices etc. This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight. With the levers in the optimum position the rider is superbly placed for fast riding while still enjoying all the hand positions available. The rearward extensions allow extra leverage and a wider hand position - be it for comfort or power. All H-bars are for a 31.8 stem.

Refer to the H-Bar Manual for set-up tips!

We highly recommend checking out our selection of longer grips and bar tape specifically designed for the 710mm and 660mm H-Bars.  Using longer grips is KEY to getting the full range of positions, and therefore comfort, that the H-Bars are capable of delivering!

Great for; Singlespeeds, 29ers, Fat Bikes, Touring, Bike-packing Adventures, City Riding and more!
Compatible with; Singlespeeds, Trigger shifters, Gripshift, Shimano twist shifters, Rohloff and above the bar hinged thumb-shifters.

Great bar. Excellent upgrade for my 2003 Gary Fisher Supercaliber. This bar and a short stem have really improved the fit.

Fantastic option for a fun build

I am running this bar on a Surly Krampus. The bike is my kids hauler, bar bike, rigid trial bike, etc... It does a little of everything. This replaced the standard jones bar, so the only difference is the rise. The front of the bike now seemingly floats over things that use to cause a little chatter. The riding position for me is not perfect for a non 100% dedicated shredder. The only reason it isn't a 5 star... not available in any lighter options.

Excellent options for hand positions and the 2.5" rise really relieved lower back pressure. The folks at the bike shop that I had mount the new bar were very impressed as well. Riding with the new bar only took a few minutes to get used to. Excellent experience ordering the bar. Riding with the new bar in place was great.

I mounted these on a modern geometry mountain bike. At 55, the low, straight handlebars were causing pain in my neck, shoulders and wrists after only 20 - 25 miles. The first ride with the 2.5 H-bar was a totally different experience. Comfortable from start to finish. I felt great after each ride. The combination of the 2.5" rise and the 45 degree angled grips transformed the bike. I still feel in complete control on trails. I did have my doubts thinking I would prefer an angle more like 30-35 degrees but within minutes, those doubts vanished. Great bars.

I purchased this for my wife to help get her into a more upright seated position. As soon as I installed it she was able to have a much more confident and comfortable ride. Thank you Jones Bikes!!!

Jones SG 2.5 Aluminum loop H-Bar

The best mod to my commuter bike I have done. I am 54 and just started cycling again after a 20 year absence. I have rod them for a couple of weeks now and they are so so comfortable. Today was my first big ride, about 26 km in sections. This is the first time I returned from a long ride where my shoulders didn't hurt. Just love them.

    Jones SG 2.5 Loop H-bar

i recently put a regular Jones SG Loop H-bar 710mm (not the 2.5) on my 2011 Trek Mamba. I instantly fell in love with the grip options and the 45-degree sweep, particularly after a recent elbow fracture where my forearm and wrist don’t function as they use to. I noticed, due to the bike’s geometry, that I wanted a little more rise and the Ritchey 80mm 30-deg stem just wasn’t cutting it. So I did some calculations and I ordered a 2.5 Loop H-bar along with a 70mm 5-deg stem. WOW! The extra rise is supremely comfortable. Truly a revelation. I did lose one set of hand positions next to the stem but that’s no big deal. For certain bike geometries and physical challenges, this bar is an absolute dream.

By the way, the regular Loop bar I took off of the Mamba?…I put that on my 2018 Norco Torrent 2HT onto a 40mm stem in place of the stock 800mm bar (similar to Race Face Atlas 35). All I can say is…Holy #$%$!! The geometry worked! I’m not Mr. Enduro/Downhill, but for XC and Texas rocky trails, it was a perfect combination.
