Jeff hears from a lot of riders who need to get their bars higher, and while his framesets make that easy, many riders are installing H-Bars on other brands of bikes with a normal, lower stack height in order to get more comfort and control.  For them, and everyone else who wants to get their bars higher, we have the new SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar!  Think of the 2.5 as an alternative to a 2" stack of headset spacers combined with a standard H-Bar, which has .5" of rise.

Also a great bar on a Jones Bike for the rider who wants maximum handlebar height!

This H-Bar is essentially an SG Loop H-Bar with 2.5" of rise compared to the standard .5" of rise on all of the other H-Bars.  Do you have a bike with a short head tube?  Your back and neck want this bar!  Are you wondering if it's safe to install a steerer tube extender on a steerer tube extender?  Get this H-Bar and you won't need to find out!

The SG 2.5 Loop H-Bar shares the same comfortable 45 degree sweep, black or silver colors options, 660mm or 710mm widths, 31.8mm clamp diameter, and standard 22.2mm grip area diameter for flat bar/mountain bike controls with the rest of the Aluminum H-Bars.  The main differences that you'll notice when riding the SG 2.5 vs the standard SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar is that the 2.5 is 2 inches higher—which makes it ideal for bikes with front ends that are too low—and that the rear crossbar swoops down to the stem, rather than curving mostly back as on the rest of the H-Bars.  We hope that this newest H-Bar will help more riders get more comfortable on their bikes!

We get a lot of questions about whether this H-Bar will work with our Loophole H-Bar Pack, and the answer is yes!  The pack fits less tightly, and will be tilted on this H-Bar, but from our experience, it works just fine.

The SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar weighs approximately 25 grams more than the SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar, so it's actually a very light-weight way to get a much higher stack—especially when compared to a steerer tube extender or even a longer steerer tube and extra spacers.

660mm 2.5 SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar: 635 grams

710 2.5 SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar: 650 grams

The SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bars pass the same stringent EN Mountain Bike Standards as all of our other H-Bars.

All Jones H-Bars use a 31.8mm stem clamp diameter, 22.2mm clamp size for controls (standard mountain bike style).  The entire front loop has a 22.2mm diameter.

The Loop H-Bar has the same hand, stem and brake lever position as the original H-Bar but the cross bar sweeps forward to allow the levers to go behind the cross bar instead of in front. This gives longer uninterrupted hand positions and will allow trigger and grip/twist shifters to fit on the rearward extensions (unlike the original H-Bar and the Cut H-Bar). The continuous front loop of the bar enhances stiffness and is good for additional aero hand positions and mounting lights, GPS devices etc. This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight. With the levers in the optimum position the rider is superbly placed for fast riding while still enjoying all the hand positions available. The rearward extensions allow extra leverage and a wider hand position - be it for comfort or power. All H-bars are for a 31.8 stem.

Refer to the H-Bar Manual for set-up tips!

We highly recommend checking out our selection of longer grips and bar tape specifically designed for the 710mm and 660mm H-Bars.  Using longer grips is KEY to getting the full range of positions, and therefore comfort, that the H-Bars are capable of delivering!

Great for; Singlespeeds, 29ers, Fat Bikes, Touring, Bike-packing Adventures, City Riding and more!
Compatible with; Singlespeeds, Trigger shifters, Gripshift, Shimano twist shifters, Rohloff and above the bar hinged thumb-shifters.

All I can say is wow! This handle bar has allowed me to ride my bike again. I suffered from shoulder pain and numb hands with the stock bar that came with my bike. The Jones bars have remedied those problems!!!

Great bars for frames with too low of stack height, or steerer tubes that have been cut short. The bars definitely shorten the reach a little too, so you may need to adjust with an accordingly longer stem if you like where you’re at now. . They feel bombproof. Can’t think of anything negative to say.

I have shoulder and neck issues. I used to be able to ride all the time. With these handlebars I’m on the road again! Takes the pressure off my shoulders and is very comfortable.

Best ergonomic improvement I have ever made to my bikes, After 500+ miles on my Stache 5, I liked them so well I converted my cross bike, (Kona Jake) with drop bars to these also. No more numbness or tingling on long rides, better control and comfort.

Jones bars are the best! Have them on all my bikes. These bars have a perfect amount of rise for my town bike.

I have had these handlebars for over a month now and I am relieved to find that all I read previous to buying them is true. Being a 42 year old touring enthusiast with a pair of drop bars was beginning to make me doubt about my hobby. The front on my bike is low and sitting up is impossible unless touching the bars with the tips of my fingers. I bought an extender bar to use with my drop bars, but it looked really funky and I was not impressed. Everything I was hoping to find about the Jones bars came through. I can ride straight up gripping the ends. I can ride low if I get tired. I can ride much more comfortably with these options. Plus even though my bike had a low front end these bars allow me to sit back in my comfort zone. Definitely recommend if you are in a similar situation to me.

I love these bars! They have opened up new worlds of hand positions. I would put them on all my bikes if they werent so spendy.

Only a couple of miles on 'em, but love how they feel, and the grips are great too.
